How to form the letter N
Capital N is a line down, a slant up to the right, then a line down. Lowercase n is a short line down, then one bump over the top.
What to watch for
Children often draw n with two bumps, turning it into an m. Count the bumps out loud: one.
Words to say while tracing
Saying a word that starts with the shape, while the pencil is moving, links the letter to a sound instead of leaving it an abstract squiggle. Try nose, nest and night.
