How to form these numbers
A single straight line down. Some classrooms add a small flag at the top left, some do not. This sheet uses the plain form.
What to watch for
A 1 that leans looks like a lowercase l. Keep it straight and touching both guide lines.
Words to say while tracing
Saying a word that starts with the shape, while the pencil is moving, links the letter to a sound instead of leaving it an abstract squiggle. Try one, first and single.
