How to form the letter D
Capital D is a straight line down, then one big curve from top to bottom. Lowercase d is a round shape first, then a tall line down its right side.
What to watch for
Lowercase d starts with the circle, not the line. Starting with the line is what turns it into a b.
Words to say while tracing
Saying a word that starts with the shape, while the pencil is moving, links the letter to a sound instead of leaving it an abstract squiggle. Try dog, duck and door.
