How to form the letter L
Capital L is a line down and a bar going right along the bottom. Lowercase l is just one tall straight line.
What to watch for
Lowercase l and capital I look identical in many fonts. Practise them on the same day so the difference is obvious.
Words to say while tracing
Saying a word that starts with the shape, while the pencil is moving, links the letter to a sound instead of leaving it an abstract squiggle. Try leaf, lion and lamp.
